Staying in Good Financial Aid Standing

To remain eligible to receive financial aid, students must maintain satisfactory academic progress toward the completion of a degree, diploma, or certificate.

Students must maintain a 2.0 overall grade point average (GPA) and successfully complete 67% of all credits attempted at Anoka Technical College.

In addition, the maximum allowable time-frame for a student to complete an academic program is 150% of the published credit length of the program of study. If it is determined that a student will not be able to finish the required courses to graduate from their program within the 150% time-frame, financial aid eligibility will be terminated.

The goals of the Financial Aid Good Standing Policy are to:

• Be in compliance with federal and state regulations;
• Intervene with students who do not meet college requirements in order to support retention of students who encounter difficulties;
• Encourage progress at a reasonable rate towards graduation;
• Provide for efficient use of federal, state and college resources;
• Provide standards and systems that are fair, consistent with graduation requirements, and appropriate for both full time and part time students.

At the end of each fall, spring and summer term, after the deadline for posting grades, the college will review the  financial aid standing of each student registered for that term.

All students not in good standing will be notified in writing of their status.
