Creative Learning Strategies recognizes that people learn in a variety of ways. Thus, there are a variety of ways for you to earn college credit, in addition to the typical classroom course. For example, Online courses and Faculty Design Independent Studies (FDISs) provide more flexible ways to take a course, but may not fit some students' learning styles.
Internships and Student Designed Independent Studies (SDISs) provide opportunities to truly individualize your program, but they also require lots of initiative by the student. Prior Learning Assessments (PLSs), theory seminars and College Level Examination (CLEP) exams can help you earn college credit for previous learning that has not been awarded credit or accepted as equivalent.
After you are admitted to Metropolitan State, you may transfer in credits that enable you to take a course from another school and use it towards your degree.
If you are unsure or need some help deciding, talk with your advisor about the options that best fit your background, learning style, needs, goals and degree program as well as Creative Learning Strategies.
