Student Insights

Current students tell us what they wish they would have known before starting college:

You should meet with an advisor or counselor at least once per semester.

Student Service offices (Financial Aid, Counseling, Advising and Career Planning, Admissions & Registration, Testing Center and Accounting & Fees) are open 8:00am- 4:30pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday; and 8:00am-7:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Counselors and advisors are available to to help students achieve their educational goals.  Counselors also provide personal and career counseling.

You can register for classes even if you haven't heard back from Financial Aid.  Once you submit your FAFSA to any MnSCU college or university, your registration will be held.  You'll want to make sure you can pay what financial aid does not cover.  You need to remember that you have 5 business days from the first day of the term to drop a class during Fall, Spring and Summer Session I.  Note that if you register for a late starting class, which includes the 8-Week Summer Session or Summer Session II, you will have one business day (24 hours) to drop a class.  Make sure you know the drop and withdraw dates for your class!

Peer tutoring is a free service offered to all students and is limited to two hours per week per subject.  Click here to make an appointment.

You are responsible for dropping or withdrawing yourself from classes.  If you don't drop within the drop period, your class is on your transcript permanently and you will be responsible for payment.

To qualify for the SSS/TRiO program you need to meet at least one of the following criteria:
