You should obtain your NHCC Student ID card as soon as possible. The Student ID card can be obtained at the Student Information Desk located in ES 85 (Educational Services). An activated card allows you to:
- Check out and renew books, videos, and reserve items from the library (videos and reserve items may only be used in the library).
- Use online databases from off-campus (you will be prompted for your ID barcode and last name to log-in).
- Use interlibrary loan (ILL). ILL allows you to have books, articles, and sometimes even videos owned by other libraries sent to the North Hennepin Community College library. ILL is a free service and allows you to have access to almost anything you might need for your research!
- Check out materials directly from libraries in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system.
- Check out a quiet study room on campus for up to 3 hours per day (study rooms are for groups of 2 to 6 students working together).
