More than half of new students attending college indicate that their goal is to work towards the completion of their general education requirements and transfer to a four-year college or university. Whether your transfer objective is clear or undefined, you won't be alone as you navigate the transfer process. The Transfer Center is available to assist you with this important decision. You can also utilize the many important tools and resources located to the right to help you make informed decisions about transfer.
Will my Saint Paul College credits transfer?
Saint Paul College has formed partnerships with a number of other institutions of higher learning. A key part of such relationships is an "articulation agreement" which guarantees course transfer. Even if we don't have a specific articulation agreement with another college, our credits are commonly accepted. It's advisable that you work with academic advising early in your program to ensure that you are taking the most appropriate course load for your particular educational and professional goals.
The evaluation of your transfer credits is a two step process:
Step 1: Submit your application and official transcripts to the Transfer Center at Saint Paul College.
Step 2: The Transfer Center will determine how many credits will transfer, and which courses will apply towards your education plan. This evaluation will be available through your Degree Audit Report (DARS).
In general, courses will be accepted if:
- they are from a regionally accredited college or university
AND
- the course content is comparable to a Saint Paul College course
Caution: You cannot count credit twice for essentially the same course (i.e., do not take English Composition I at one campus and repeat that equivalent course at another campus). In order to avoid the expense in both time and money needlessly repeating a course, it is important to have all your transcripts submitted for evaluation.
